Understanding your crypto profit is one of the most important steps in becoming a confident trader even if you're just starting out.

What Is Crypto Profit?

Crypto profit is the money you make after buying and then selling cryptocurrency. It's the difference between what you paid and what you earned, minus any extra costs (like fees).

The basic formula is:

Profit = (Sell Price – Buy Price) × Amount – Fees

Let’s break it down:

Buy Price: The price you paid per coin.

Sell Price: What you sold it for.

Amount: How much crypto you traded.

Fees: Charges from exchanges or platforms.

Example:

Imagine you bought 1 Bitcoin at $30,000 and later sold it at $35,000. If your transaction fee was $100, then:

Profit = (35,000 – 30,000) × 1 – 100Profit = $4,900

That’s how you know you gained $4,900 in profit.
